Manaslu Expedition

Overview

Mt. Manaslu (8163m) high is located in the central region of Nepal in the Gorkha massif. It is the eighth highest mountain in the world. The name Mt. Manaslu was derived from the Sanskrit word "Manas" which means 'Soul' or 'Intellect'. Japanese were the first to climb Manaslu peak in 1956. Therefore it is still considered as Japanese peak by many people. Though there are many routes to go to Mt. Manaslu mountaineering, as the long ridge Manaslu base camp and valley glacier offer feasibility to approach from different directions, but south face is considered to be the most difficult Our caravan route to this mountain begins from Gorkha to Samagaon and return route is via Larke La Pass trekking to the Annapurna classic routes making the expedition one of the memorable ones for Mt. Manaslu climbing.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and hotel transfer.

Day 02 – 03: Official formalities and expedition preparation.

Day 04: Kathmandu - Gorkha by bus.

Day 05: Trek to Khanchwok.

Day 06: Trek to Arughat.

Day 07: Trek to Soti Khola.

Day 08: Trek to Machhakhola.

Day 09: Trek to Lauri.

Day 10: Trek to Season.

Day 11: Trek to Deng.

Day 12: Trek to Ghap.

Day 13: Trek to Namrung.

Day 14: Trek to Syala.

Day 15: Trek to Sama Gaun.

Day 16: Trek to Manaslu base camp.

Day 17 – 45: Climbing.

Day 46: Clean up the base camp.

Day 47 - 51: Retrace to Gorkha / Dhading.

Day 52: Drive back to Kathmandu".

Day 53: Free day in Kathmandu.

Day 54: Airport transfer for a return flight.
